Use of insecticides to rid garden ants.

If you are embarking upon the removal of garden ants yourself, please be mindful that pesticides are poisons and must be treated with respect. You should only use pesticides approved for amateur (household) use and always read the label and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

When applying insecticides inside only use those approved for indoor use and never use insecticides on food preparation surfaces. Keep pesticides safely, out of the reach of children and pets - including those laid in treatment, satisfy yourself that the poisons you have laid will not harm your family, visitors and pets. Always wash hands after using any insecticides.

When in any doubt contact a professional garden ant control expert.

In domestic properties professional ant controllers are more likely to treat the kitchen and garden areas specifically where the ants are more likely to have originally entered the premises.

This course of action would leave a protective barrier to prevent ants from re-entering the home.

Qualified ant removal (pest control) technicians will normally ask for feedback at a later date and then return to treat all areas again as well as any additional areas. Normally two visits are sufficient and once the treatment is complete they should provide an inspection report for you to keep.
